Rich Brame
Rich Brame launched his professional outdoor career with NOLS at Wind Cave National Park in the 1980s, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey. He has since guided transformative backcountry expeditions—camera in hand— across twelve countries, eight U.S. states, and five continents.
While at NOLS, Rich provided leadership for NOLS Yukon and then the Alumni Relations division, elevating Alumni Trips, Benefits, Reunions, and Relations to new levels.
Over the past ~40 years his contributions to the outdoor industry have also extended beyond wilderness travel and instruction. As a NOLS administrator, he filled industry leadership roles in public policy, research and Leave No Trace initiatives, even co-authoring "Soft Paths, 4th Edition”. Rich has made a global impact on responsible outdoor conservation practices.
Recently, he continues discover ways to be outdoors with groups, focusing on leading treks on challenging trails in Scotland, Portugal, and northern Italy.
